Molten Metal in 'Steel & Ash' by Sleek Makeup - Review & Swatches

Will you believe me if I will tell you that I heard tons of negative reviews about this products but bought it because the packaging and the shades looked amazingly stunning to me? Well you better believe me now. When I bought it I knew there is no way this product is going to work but guess what? I found a solution.

Molten Metal by Sleek Makeup:
They say: 'An intensely pigmented duo cream eyeshadow, Molten Metal lasts long after the night is over! Unlike most cream eyeshadows, Molten Metal gives you a strong metallic look that lasts.'

Product Description & Packaging:
Molten Metal comes in a plastic small palette with a mirror inside. It comes in two shades and contains 5.4g of product. It is a cream eye shadow.

Overall Experience:
As I mentioned previously, almost every review I read before buying this product, I shouldn't have made this choice but I only bought it because it looked so awesome, the packaging was appealing and the colors looked so intense.

After I got this, I tried it and *ewww*, I wanted to throw it away. It started creasing instantly, like not after 30 minutes or so but as soon as I started applying it on other eye, the first one is ruined. I then tried using a powder eye shadow over it, did not work. Tried again with a powder eye shadow underneath it, absolutely no luck. But then I tried Professional Eye Primer by MUA - Make Up Academy (review & makeup look) underneath it and result were really great. It stayed without creasing for about 4 hours but only if the layer was not too heavy. If I applied a powder eye shadow on top of it, it stayed for about 5 hours.

Overall, I am happy with my purchase and the other shade is in my wish list now. I won't say this is a great product because like Sleek Makeup claims that it is long lasting, so NO it is not. But I absolutely loved both shades and the richness of silver shade is pretty amazing.

If you are looking for a true shimmery silver and metal cream shadows for a few hours parties or photo shoots, you should give it a try.

  1. These palettes are really highly pigmented. But I have to blend it so well and I mostly i use it as eyeliner. and yes it is bad for creasing

  2. I totally agree with you that it has zero lasting power but then again the way it pops up the eyes and the way it brightens them up its super amazing in that regard. very nice and honest review :)

    1. Shinaya, it lasted on my eyes for 4-5 hours with an eye primer. =)

  3. I agree with you about reading reviews, I read a lot of negative reviews about this one but seriously it looks awesome. Would love to see an eye look with this!

    1. A day more or two and I will post one makeup look. Stay tuned :) xx

  4. Wow the colors are so intense and pretty, loving it! :)

  5. Gorgeous color! But a person who knows how to play with makeup would love both for sure. :)
