How to do a Facial at Home!

I got a request on Facebook about how to do Facial at Home, so I thought to do a blog post on this =)
Lets start:

Items you need:

Cleansing Milk
Facial Scrub
Face Mask
Toner
Moisturizer
Sponges
Steamer (Optional)

Steps:

  1. Apply cleansing milk all over your face and neck and massage in upward and circular movements. If you have any makeup or too much oil on your face, then  massage with the cleansing milk for 1 minute and wipe off with wet sponge.
  2. Apply the cleansing milk all over your face and neck again, & this time massage for about 5-10 minutes. Always massage in upward and circular movements. Wipe off with a wet sponge. If your cleansing milk dries off during the massage, just use a little water on your hands and continue.
  3. Apply a face scrub all over your face and neck and massage for about 5-10 minutes. Concentrate on your problem areas like around the nose, on forehead, on your chin etc. If it dries off during massage, add a little water. Wipe off when you are done.
  4. This step is totally optional & I skip this step when I am doing facial at home. Use a steamer to make steam (or you can boil some water in a pan to make steam), now put the steamer on a flat surface, keep your face above the steamer but make sure that there is a distance of about 1-2 feet between the steamer and your face. Cover yourself and the steamer with a towel so the steam wont go out. Take steam for about 2-5 minutes & then remove blackhead if you want. ( I never take out my blackheads at home because it should always be done by a professional or by some one else. You can never make a perfect angle to take out blackhead and it can end up in clogged pores)
  5. Apply face mask all over your face and neck. Remove when it dries. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes. Put cucumber slices or cotton pads dipped in cold water on your eyes and lay down in semi dark room with some soothing music on. =)
  6. Apply a non-alcoholic toner with a cotton ball. Apply it in a circular motion & let it air dry.
  7. Take about a pea sized amount of moisturizer on your finger and apply it all over your face and neck in upward and circular movements.

And you are done :)

*Choose your products according to your skin type.
*Do not use scrub so often, I usually do the scrubbing once every two weeks.
*If you are in a hurry, do the cleansing & scrubbing for 5 minutes.
*Mask types that you can use: mud mask, cream mask, peal off mask etc

Lemme know if you will try this at home :)

*Stay Beautiful
