The Artiste Collection by Makeup Academy (MUA) - Review, Swatch & a Look

Let's travel light this holiday season by taking one palette instead of a cluster of makeup items. MUA' The Artiste Collection is my favorite palette for a long time now for reasons you will know later in this post.

The Artiste Collection:
This is a beautiful artiste collection palette on the go which helps create a full face all in one, with 6 brand NEW merged eye shadows, two powder blushers and a contour shade and highlighter.

Shades include shimmery merged tones for fashion-forward statement smoky eyes with light and earthy naturals for an everyday look which can easily be transformed into an evening smoky eye look. The two blushes include warm pink shades for a soft shimmer finish. Finally the contour and highlighter helps create a flawless sculpted natural glow.

These rich, high-pigmented colours help achieve a stunning look this summer.

Product Description & Packaging:
This palette had a plastic body with a transparent lid. There is a sticker at the bag stating all the shade names and all together it contains 17 g of product. The palette contains six eye shadows, two blushers, one bronzer, one highlighter and one dual ended foam applicator. The packaging is quite sturdy and half inch of thickness which makes it really travel friendly.

Overall Experience:
When I first saw this palette, I was not sure about the eye shadows at all and the blushers looked dull as well. But being the proud owner of a curious nature, I ordered one. I am so glad that I got this palette because the eye shadows are surprisingly really nicely pigmented and for some reason, they decided not to crease on my oily lids too quickly. I can totally wear all the eye shadows in this palette, without any eye primer underneath and they stay fine for good three hours. After three hours, I can see slight creasing but they do not tone down until next two hours. With this humid and hot weather throughout the year, I am really happy with the wear time. These eye shadows have a semi matte finish and they are kind of feel powdery causing a bit of fall out.

Now let's come to my favorite part; blushers, bronzer and highlighter. Both of these blushers have almost same tone and I really wish one of these were a bit more brighter. For me both of these blushers work fine and to satisfy myself, I always mix both of them. Bronzer is totally matte and I loved how this shade really suits my skin tone; it is neither too dark to create a contrast nor it is too light and it can totally be used as a contour shade as well. Heart of this palette however is the highlighter. It is so far the most natural looking highlighter I have ever used. It is the one that I can totally wear in my everyday routine.

All four face products are nicely pigmented and easily blend-able. They stay on my for good 4-6 hours and do not tone down unless I sweat excessively.

The uncomfortable thing about the palette is having bronzer and highlighter beside each other. Every time I use the bronzer, bits go to the highlighter pan and I have to wipe the highlighter with something before I use it.

Overall I am loving this palette and since I have got it, I literally carry it every time I travel plus occasionally I do my makeup in the car while going to a dinner/party and this palette gets picked without a second thought. I am sure you will love it if you like palettes to create some natural/daytime/light makeup looks. I am so glad that pigmentation and longevity of these eye shadows is far more better than most of the eye shadows MUA's other palettes have.

Cost & Availability:
You can buy The Artiste Collecion Palette for £6 directly from MUA's website; they ship to the countries where you have PayPal available as their only mode of payment is PayPal at this point.

There are also many Facebook/Online stores selling MUA's products; in Malaysia, you can get it from Mesmerize and in Pakistan you can get this palette from Just4Girls.pk

Makeup Look:

Products I Used:
On my eyes, I mixed Chocolate and Cookie as a base color and under my waterline, added Grape in the crease area and highlighted brow bones and inner corners with Mocca. On my face, I used both blushers, bronzer and highlighter from the same palette.

This is one of my go-to makeup looks and takes about 10-15 minutes. However I do change the products according to my mood. :)

    1. I know that feeling, highlighters usually enhances flaws. I always had to be really careful and I stopped using them on my forehead at all. But this one is so natural and fine and does not enhance flaws. Also, you can try to go for a matte highlighting shade.
