Makeup Brushes by Color Studio Professional - Review & Comparison

Collecting makeup brushes gives one such hard time when it comes to make a few your favorites. You are just so choosy that at times it take you to a point to either keep a brush under your pillow or throw it in a bin. Let's see if Color Studio Professional's makeup brushes will be something I would love Santa to bring me this year or they are gonna just sit in a dark drawer forever.

Makeup Brushes by Color Studio Professional:
Color Studio Professional launched a couple of limited edition brushes this year and as for now, they must be gone from most of the places. I am not even sure where you will get them from because so far I have no clue about it. They sent me these brushes on my trip of Pakistan in August this year and I am truly thankful that they kept a few for me to try.

I will be reviewing each brush separately and will be doing a quick comparison for two of these with other brands that I have tried.

Flat Top Kabuki Foundation Brush:
This brush has really dense bristles, is pretty smooth & soft and blends liquid and cream products flawlessly. It has a good weight to it and the length of the handle is reasonable too. There was a tiny bit of shedding of bristles in first wash but didn't notice anymore shedding later on. It dried in about 8 hours but would take more in colder regions.

Comparison: I am going to compare CSP's Flat Top Kabuki Foundation Brush with Sigma's F80 Flat Top Kabuki Brush and Makeup Geek's Foundation Stippling Brush because these two have been my favorite flat top brushes for foundation. All three brushes I just mentioned, work 100% same and I am not joking. It looks like Sigma's F80 is the shrunken version of CSP's brush; F80's handle is a bit shorter and slimmer than CSP's brush. Makeup Geek's brush has same bristle density but the handle is much slimmer than any of the foundation brushes I have ever used; I would actually love if CSP would make slimmer handles for brushes. After trying CSP's brushes; I have really high hopes that we are going to have a house-brand for high quality makeup brushes.

Dome Powder Face Brush:
This brush has perfect density of bristles to be your favorite powder brush. And not just that; it can be used as a blush brush if you are into bigger blush brushes. This brush has a really good length and weight to it. I did not notice much shedding on first wash and there wasn't anymore shedding later on. I found it fully dried in about 6 hours but drying time would vary according to the weather conditions.

Comparison: I am going to compare CSP's Dome Powder Face Brush with Sigma's F30 Large Powder Brush and Luscious Cosmetics' Powder Brush because I have used these powder brushes the most since I started doing makeup. Sigma's brush has least dense bristles then comes Luscious' brush and CSP's brush's bristles are most dense but still good enough as a powder brush. However; unlike other two brands I mentioned, you need to keep a light hand when powdering with CSP's brush as the density of the bristles might move the layers beneath if you are used to to really fluffy powder brushes. CSP one is definitely longer than other two brands and is a great and highly affordable option if you wanna compare it to Sigma or any other high end brand.

Flat Shader Eye Shadow Brush by Color Studio Professional

Flat Shader Eye Shadow Brush by Color Studio Professional
Flat Shader Eye Shadow Brush:
This brush is now my favorite brush for the times when I wanna use one brush to pack shadows on my eyes and then blend them. This brush has a flat top with medium-ly denser bristles at the base that open up a little towards the top. The brush is stiff enough so you can pack your shadows on the lids and the top is softer enough so you can blend the shadows. It gets a bit pointy to the top so you should be able to blend the shadows even in crease area without letting your shadow go all over the eye, especially if you have smaller area to work on.

This brush has a decent weight to it and has that pro length as well.

I did not notice any shedding during first wash and it dries pretty quickly.

Double Ended Concealer Brush by Color Studio Professional

Double Ended Concealer Brush by Color Studio Professional

Double Ended Concealer Brush:
This brush is definitely my favorite of these four. I never thought that dual ended brushes would be such handy as I know I cannot keep them in brush holder since either one of the heads is gonna get de-shaped. On one end of the brush, there is a fluffier & round part and on other end, there is a smaller, stiffer & flat part. Fluffier part blends the concealer under the eyes and on sides of the nose flawlessly. It is like a bigger version of a blending brush but with denser bristles. The bristles are really soft and go super easy on delicate skin like under eyes. The other end, the stiffer one, is perfect to spot-conceal the areas that need more coverage and also around the nose. You can use same end to highlighter under brow bone and on inner corners of the eyes. Not just that, the size and stiffness in this brush is perfect to act as a lip brush. I am loving this brush with all my heart.

There was some shedding of the fluffier part when I was using it and also when I first washed it but later on, it was fine. there was no shedding of the bristles on the stiffer part though. Both ends dry up pretty fast. That being said; I would really like if same design would come in a bit longer size. I have this feeling that there are more people with bigger hands like mine and I feel like it would have been really comfortable if the brush was about half to one inch longer.

Overall, I am loving the quality of these brushes and the prices are mind blowing. Yet again, i am so proud of CSP. I hope they will come up with more batches of these beauties in future. And I would also like to request for a quick change in future version [I hope they come up with more], please rotate the logo print, every other brush I have has the logo other way and it looks right when I hold it in my hand but CSP brushes has it the opposite way [am I making any sense?]. This kind of annoys me so thought to mention it.

  4. As alwayss, stunning shots Sahrish! I love the comparison, I've always wanted to try the F80 to find out what the hype is, so I think I'll go for the ColorStudio version! I like how it's taller but yeah slimmer handle would've been perfffect! :D
