They say: 'These are all highly-pigmented. Half the price of MAC shadows without sacrificing quality. These pans can be placed in empty palettes such as MAC Pro Palettes or Z-Palettes. Eyeshadow pan weight is 1.8G / 0.064 oz. With a separate palette, you can build your own custom palettes. All our shadows are cruelty-free -- we do not test our products on animals. These eyeshadows are Talc and Paraben-Free. We ship worldwide at affordable rates'

Product Description & Packaging:

Makeup Geek's eyeshadows come in compacts and pans. Each pan is securely packed in a beautiful card box packaging. Pans are made up of metal and each pan holds 1.8 grams of product.

Swatches:
These swatches have been taken on MUA's Professional Eye Primer. In this batch, the pigmentation is not quite same for every shadow if worn without an eye primer or eyeshadow base and I highly believe that a primer or an eye shadow base enhances the true color and pigmentation and gives minimum to no fall outs.

I will be briefly mentioning some points with each swatch so you can have a better idea about individual eyeshadow.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Mercury
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Mercury has a decent pigmentation even without a primer underneath. It is a pure silver / shimmer shade.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Shimma Shimma
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Shimma Shimma is a plain gorgeous, shimmery but dull peach shade. This eyeshadow is so perfect for highlighting on face and body as well. A hint of it under brow bone and in inner corner of the eye looks really good. This one also has a decent pigmentation even without primer underneath.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Bleached Blonde
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Bleached Blonde is a copper-ish gold shade with medium brown undertone. Has a decent pigmentation even without a primer underneath.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Gold Digger
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Gold Digger is the answer to all your I-need-a-perfect-golden-eyeshadow wishes. It has a decent pigmentation without any primer underneath.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Drama Queen
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Drama Queen is a stunning deep purple shade with a decent hint of shimmer to it. Imagine all the smokey eye looks it can create. This one also has a nice pigmentation but the beauty has a bit of fall out which is quite obvious with darker shades at time.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Sensuous
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Sensuous is a mixture off lightest brown and mauve shade in my opinion. This shadow has a bit lower than what I would call a decent pigmentation. But the less amount of shimmer and the tone makes this one perfect for everyday use when you need something fun on your eyes without going too over board.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Unexpected
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Unexpected is a pure matte mauve shade with a decent pigmentation. Unexpectedly I fell in love with it and have been using it the most out of all these ten eye shadows. This shade is perfect to be used alone in the crease for a natural depth in everyday routine specially if you are a working person.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Lemon Drop
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Lemon Drop is another golden shade with yellow undertone. This shade has nice pigmentation but it looks plain stunning over an eyeshadow primer. I feel like this should have been named as Gold Drop instead of Lemon Drop.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Chikadee
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Chikadee is a pure matte orange shade with decent pigmentation. Perfect shade when you need a pop of color on your eye.

Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadows - Neptune
Makeup Geek Pressed Eyeshadow - Swatch

Neptune is a pure matte blue shade. This shadow did not work without primer at all but looked awesome over an eyeshadow primer. Another lovely shade when you need a pop of color on your eyes or even below them.

Overall Experience:
If you want to read a full length review of MUG shadows, you should head over to my first post of their eyeshadow where I mention a multipurpose use of their range; Makeup Geek Eye Shadows - Review, Swatches & Multipurpose Usage Guide or you can also check more swatches of their new shades on this post; Makeup Geek's New Eye Shadows - Review & Swatches. Those two posts feature 17 eyeshadows with swatches.

The ones I am featuring in this post have different pigmentation. All of them has great color payoff and longevity [over 12 hours] if worn over eye shadow base or eye primer in case you have oily lids like I do.

None of these really gave any annoying fall outs. Only Neptune & Drama Queen had a bit of fall out which I was totally expecting. They do not crease for good 2-3 hours if I do not use an eye primer but I have pretty oily lids and this time is quite impressive as well. But again, unless I am just dabbing a bit of shadow in my crease on everyday usage, I always wear an eye primer so my shadows will last throughout the day and will stay put even in hot and humid weather of Malaysia.

I absolutely love these eye shadows and I am so looking forward to expand my collection because I know that they are great dupes for MAC's eye shadows too.

  1. Oooo you are so lucky to get these to try! I've been dying to own a few but the shipping to singapore is damn ridiculous! About paying the same price or more for the amount you want to buy! I hope you arrange more affordable shipping soon! I would love gold digger shimma shimma and expected from the bunch you have!
