Since I moved to Malaysia, so many makeup brands have started in Pakistan, and on my recent trip to Pakistan, I finally managed to get my hands on a few brands including Masarrat Misbah. I heard great reviews about their Silk Foundation and today I have a review + swatch after almost 4 months of testing.
MM Makeup is a Halal Certified cosmetic line adhering to the in depth Halal standards for ingredients and manufacturing. Including good manufacturing practices and fair trade. MM Makeup does not test on animals.
Silk Foundation by Masarrat Misbah:
They claim:
This weightless liquid formula "tunes in" to your skin's need, controlling oil where there is a shine and moisturize where it's patchy for a long wearing balanced look, with true coverage.
Product Packaging:
The foundation comes in a glass bottle with a pump mechanism. Each bottle has 35 grams of product and comes in 13 shades. This is a halal & cruelty-free product.
In the swatch below, do notice how this foundation covered all the red bumps on my arm. Yes, I did the shoot with a freshly waxed arm to show the coverage. :D
My Experience:
- 10/10 for pump packaging because it is hygienic and keeps the product fresh for longer.
- Good shade range but I still feel the need to have darker tones in the range.
- Suitable for all skin types.
- Has a creamy liquid consistency which is more towards the creamier side.
- Has a strong scent but it goes away upon application.
- VERY high pigmentation that gives you full coverage without feeling heavy or cakey.
- You can achieve sheer to full coverage depending on your choice and preference.
- Blends beautifully with a brush or a sponge. I prefer application with a brush and then blending it with a wet sponge.
- Does not enhance dry patches but I still always prep my skin before makeup application.
- Looks skin-like and I love the finish.
- Does not go completely matte but gives you a natural finish, if you know what I mean.
- I also use it as a concealer on an everyday basis because of the lightweight formula.
- It also does not set into fine lines.
- Has water and sweat resistant formula which helps with the hot and humid weather of Malaysia.
- Stays all day but for my combination/oily skin, I get shiny on my T-zone so I need to retouch with powder.
- Comes off easily with a regular makeup remover.
- Totally worth the money.
Overall I am totally in love with this foundation and I am so happy that I tried it. Every time I wear this foundation, I fall in love even more. I highly recommend Silk Foundation and I am so grateful that I got a perfect shade match (thanks to Sabrina at MM outlet in Lahore).
Silk Foundation by Masarrat Misbah costs pkr 2150 and you can buy it here. As far as I know, they only ship within Pakistan. You can also buy their line in-stores all over Pakistan.
Thank you for your time.
