Monroe by piCture pOlish - Review & Swatches

Today I have an utterly gorgeous nail polish from piCture pOlish on my blog which has made me fall in love on first use.

Monroe (reborn - new formula) is a blood red jelly holographic (scattered) and has NO glitter. Monroe contains a holographic shimmer for that extra special touch and more rainbows of course! Your nails will take on a whole new dimension when in bright light or sunlight.

Product Description & Packaging:

Monroe is a maroon shade with lots of silver specks which look shiny maroon when on nails. It comes with a nice applicator brush with firm grip. It comes in a transparent glass bottle and contains 11ml of product.

Swatch:

I have applied two coats of Monroe without any top/base coat. It looks eww on first coat but second coat's oh-that-gorgeousness will stun you for sure.

Overall Experience:
Monroe has a creamy formula which is a bit tricky to apply. It is not a disaster formula but you can end up with blobs of polish at the sides of nails if you apply thick coats. I would suggest thin coat application and wait for the first coat to dry completely. It goes opaque in two coats and dries in decent amount of time. Even though it has a creamy texture, it goes pretty hard really quickly.

As far as the staying time is concerned, I noticed a bit of chipping on two of my nails which is unusual since I have been using piCture pOlish's nail polishes quite often now and they stay for good four to five days on my nails. Please note that I am a full time mother & wife and do all the house chores by myself. But even then, it was a bummer, however, I did not notice anymore chipping for next three days.

I really love the depth in this shade which enhances even more on third coat. Just like Starry Night by piCture pOlish, this shade is also suitable for people who cannot carry dark shades but want to wear them. This maroon looks really pretty on hands and does not make my hands look darker. =D

Overall, I am absolutely in love with this nail polish for all the good points but I wish the formula was a bit smoother and the staying time was like the other nail polishes by piCture pOlish that I have tried so far.
