Halal, Breathable & Wudhu Friendly - Oxygen Nail Polish by Zahara Cosmetics - Review, Swatch & Discount Code

Halal, Breathable & Wudhu Friendly - Oxygen Nail Polish by Zahara Cosmetics - Review, Swatch & Discount Code
Regular nail polish turns the nails to a yellow tone due to lack of oxygen, when you wear it for longer duration and for Muslims who need to perform wudu, regular nail polish is not an easy option. Today I will tell you all about my experience with a wudu-friendly and breathable nail polish created by Zahara Cosmetics.

Halal Nail Polish by Zahara Cosmetics:
They claim:
Long lasting and permeable nail colour for strong and healthy, bright and beautiful nails. Our Oxygen formula allows water and oxygen to pass through the polish to reach your nails. Say goodbye to unhealthy nails, and hello to freedom. MADE IN FRANCE

About The Product: (Weight/Packaging)
The bottle contains 11 ml of product and comes in 9 shades including one transparent top coat. The bottle is made up of transparent glass, has beads in it for mixing purpose and comes with a decent applicator. The shade name is not written on the bottle itself but is written on the cardboard packaging that the bottle comes in.

The shade I got is called War Paint and it is a bright red shade with a very glossy finish.

Harsh Chemicals?
Zahara's Nial Polish is 5-free; meaning that it is free of the common harmful chemicals that are found in nail polishes (No Toluene, Dibutyl Phthalate, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde resin and Camphor)

This nail polish contains no animal by-products, making it vegan!

Formula:
The formula is really light and has a thin consistency. It goes onto the nails, smooth and non-streaky.

Opacity:
You can easily get away with just one coat but two thin coats are better. Two thin coats gave me about 95% of opacity but I could see myself going for a third coat to get full opacity if I wasn't too lazy.

Drying Time:
The formula dries dramatically fast. Like all nail polishes, the first coat takes the fastest time to dry and the second one takes a little more time.

Longevity (Wear Time):
I did not find any chipping on my nails for good four days and I know it could last a long time but I do dishes and all other house chores myself and wearing gloves is not in my book. Average formula chips on me in two or maximum three days with this much activity so Zahara Cosmetics did a tremendous job on that.

This wear time is without a top or bottom coat.

Wudu-Friendly?
Zahara Cosmetics recommends a maximum of two coats and rubbing the nails gently for a minimum of 30 seconds while performing wudu. They have a fatwa on their website and a lab test report to prove that their nail polishes are actually wudu-friendly. Zahara Cosmetics also states and I quote:

We are proud to announce that we have obtained halal certification for our nail polishes by the Globally renowned International Halal Integrity Alliance.

I have personally worn this polish during Ramadan when I first received it and I removed it right before my prayers because all my life, I have tried to perform wudu without nail polish on so this experience felt a little uncomfortable. But after reading the lab report, I asked myself and some friends and family around me that house many times so we challenge and test things ourselves hat has a label of Halal on them? As a practicing Muslim, I have food items in my pantry with Halal labels and I consume them confidently. And so, I actually have worn the nail polish a couple of times since I got it and have performed my wudu and then offered my prayers with confidence. The choice is yours, but I thought to share my experience and thoughts on this.

Removal:
This step is simple and regular. Any nail polish remover would work.

Staining:
I did not notice any staining even though the polish was red and I don't wear base coats.

Price Point:
$18.00 SGD (approx US$ 13) is a reasonable price tag for a wudu friendly nail polish and I do see myself spending money on these in future.

Overall Experience:
I loved everything about this nail polish; from formula to the applicator to the shade. I do wish that the brand expands the shade range in future and add a sticker at the bottom or top of the polish with shade name written on it.
