About The Product (Weight/Packaging):
These highlighters come in a card box packaging and for this purchase of mine, I got them in orange shade but previously I got them in white. ColourPop does change the outer packaging depending on occasions etc. The actual product comes in a white plastic pot with a twist lid that has a clear window so you can see the product. It is especially helpful when you have more than one shade in the same range so you do not have to open the lid every time you want to wear a specific highlighter.
Super Shock Highlighters come in 25+ shades and each pot contains 4.2 grams of product.
Shade Description:
- Flexitarian is a white champagne gold shade. It is a very intense & out-there highlighter and has color changing specs which look beautiful when bright lights hit the area.
- Swing both ways in this intense white champagne
- Lunch Money is a soft light gold shade. It is a very subtle highlighter and perfect for everyday use.
Pigmentation:
Both highlighters are super pigmented and pigmentation is a lot higher when used with fingers.
Texture:
ColourPop describes their Super Shock Highlighters as creme powder and they feel exactly like that. They feel wet but look powder and when on the face, they blend as smoothly as a liquid would. I mean, it is so mesmerizing that I swatch the formula on my hand and arm for no reason. 🤣
Application:
As mentioned earlier, SSH is best applied with fingers but I also love to use my Setting Brush by Real Techniques when I want a very subtle application. These highlighters blend really smoothly and are buildable without giving you a powdery or cakey look.
Finish:
Since the formula is smooth and not entirely powder, SSH gives a skin-like finish but obviously nicely highlighted skin. They do not enhance uneven texture os skin or cling to dry spots.
Lunch Money is my routine highlighter because of its very subtle finish and Flexitarian is my party special even though I don't go to parties. 🤔 Both of these give a beautiful finish and I love how I can totally control the results.
Longevity:
They stay for longer hours, with or without a foundation underneath or any makeup base for that matter. I do not wear a full face of makeup every day, mainly because of hot weather in Malaysia, but I like to use highlighter sometimes and I am loving SSH a lot. They are highly sweat resistant so if I sweat, I just pat my skin dry and the pigment does not transfer to the tissue paper that I pat my face with until or unless I smudge the skin.
These are also touch &transfer resistant because people like me who tend to touch their face because they forget they are wearing makeup, need this feature in all makeup products.
When I apply the product (Lunch Money) in less amount for a natural glow, I do see it fading away after a couple hours. But that is usually when I am doing chores around the house and YES, I do wear highlighter when I am doing dishes, sometimes, but I do because I can. 💖
Removal:
SSH emove easily with any makeup remover or a makeup wipe as these are not waterproof.
Price Point:
4.2 grams of highly pigmented product with such amazing quality is absolute worth US$ 8.00. 💋
Final Thoughts:
I could not be happier with my purchase, to be honest. I was always interested in CP's Lippie Stix but once I bought Super Shock Highlighters, now I feel like it is my mission to collect them all. 💁♀️
