Eyeliners have always been in fashion and they definitely play a major role in bringing together the whole makeup look. Today I have a pencil eyeliner by one of my favorite brands; L'Oreal.
NEW Colour Riche Le Smokey Eyeliner comes in 5 beautiful, wearable shades with a luxurious, intense formula combining oil and wax.
Colour Riche Le Smokey softly glides over the eyelid allowing you to achieve a long-lasting and intense look.
Note: I took this description from L'Oreal's aussie website but I have seen about eight shades in this range.
Product Description & Packaging:
This dual ended eyeliner pencil comes with a smudger, which I consider one of the most helpful tool when included in pencils as while travelling you cannot be precised about your eyeliner so a smudger always lets you go away with it by smoking your eyeliner out. I totally love the golden and purple combination for this pencil, looks so riche. Shade I got is Purple Dream and it is an almost a purple trying to act like a black eyeliner.
Swatches:
This swatch has been taken in day light without any primer/base underneath.Overall Experience:
I have been using same kind of eyeliner + smudger by Mineral Hygienics (Automatic Eyeliner in 'Raven') for a very long time. I loved it because it was an intense black shade and mostly because it has a good staying power, it does not smudge and is waterproof. While, when it comes to Color Riche LeSmoky Pencil Eyeliner, I only liked the packaging, pigmentation and how it glides onto the skin in one go. Other then that, this eyeliner smudges as soon you open your eyes and in 2-3 hours, you might not even see it there. Please note that I have oily lids and that might be a major factor for all this to happen but I have eyeliner that stay on my oily lids. It also does not stay on my waterline and gives me raccoon eyes.
The only way I made this eyeliner work for me was to use either an eye shadow base or use it over an eye primer and then seal it with an eye shadow.
Overall, I am not impressed with this pencil eyeliner, the smudger works totally fine but this eyeliner is not travel friendly as I have to go through a few steps to make it stay on me.
