Matt Foundation HD Stick by Color Studio Pro - Review & Swatches

I have never ever been a fan of stick foundations. Reason; I have combination/oily skin and it gets flaky at times which makes such heavy formula to be really hard to apply and then to stay it at place for longer hours. Honestly with this product, I was pretty scared and the shade on first swatch looked too orange-y but some products surprise you when you don't expect them to. Want to know how?

Product Description & Packaging:
This foundation comes in a stick form and the packaging is all plastic. Product comes out when you twist the stick. The cover locks really tightly ensuring the product being airtight. The formula is creamy and comes in five different shades. It contains 11g of product. The shade I am reviewing is 'Beige' which has a peachy undertone.

Swatches:
The swatch is taken on bare skin without any primer or moisturizer underneath. On right side, you can see the texture of the product and on left side, you can see how it blends into the skin.

Overall Experience:
I have been dealing with extra dryness on sides of my nose and on cheeks for past few weeks. When I applied this foundation first, I made two mistakes; I applied too much amount & I applied it without moisturizing my face prior to the application. It enhanced those dry patches and I could clearly see the foundation on my face. Not a good sight!

Later on, I applied it in really less quantity and moisturized my face prior to the application. Results; I could not see any noticeable layer of foundation and my skin looked better. But as I mentioned that I am dealing with severe dry patches on my cheeks even though my skin is really oily at the t-zone. I could still see that it kind of enhanced those dry patches. But otherwise, it gave me a nice medium coverage and also covered any redness and dark circles a bit as well.

On my third trial, I took some of the product in my palm (by rubbing the stick a few times), added 1-2 drops of one of my favorite hydrating cream, rubbed everything together in my palm and then applied it like a tinted moisturizer. I can't tell you how perfect and natural it looked. No more dry patches and it still gave light to medium coverage. I mean that coverage and finish is pretty good for my everyday routine. I loved how the foundation became unnoticeable. So I would say, if you have really dry skin, use it by mixing in a moisturizer first and then apply another layer if you want to achieve full coverage.

I did not find any hard time in blending this product. I have applied it with my fingers and with Flat Top Short Handle Foundation Brush. The formula is highly pigmented so be careful or you will go overboard and that will not look nice. Also, without a finishing powder, it worked fine for my skin and stayed for good 3-4 hours in humid weather. I noticed a bit of shine on my t-zone in about an hour which would I could avoid by using a finishing powder but I have been preferring a bit of luminous finish these days instead of going all matte. Blotting it with a tissue helps with shine.

It did not crease, crack or slide on my face for 3-4 hours but it shifts to the phone a bit (without finishing powder) unlike Pro Luminous Foundation by Color Studio Pro. It also covered up my redness completely but I could not get full coverage on my dark circles. If I set it with a finishing powder, it lasts for good 5-6 hours and even longer if I don't sweat too much but it shifts after I sweat. Also, it tends to go into lines under the eyes so a primer should be applied.

This shade looks a bit darker than my skin when I apply it for full coverage but I balance it out with a finishing powder. But for a sheer to medium coverage, I am loving it. Most love is for its pigmentation and property of looking natural which stick foundations never did for me before.

This foundation also has a good value for money and is suitable for traveling. The only thing that was not good that it claims to give a matte finish when in reality it gave me a luminous finish. It is fine with me but a product should work as it claims to.

Overall, this stick foundation has impressed me a lot by looking so natural and skin-like. I can say that I am going to use it for my everyday makeup routine, especially when I am on the go because I have saved time with my favorite method of application with this product, i.e., mixing it with a hydrating cream.
