[Event Postponed Until Further Notice] Winter Carnival in Lahore by Alpha - Event and Free Invitation Details #AlphaWinterCarnival

Winter Carnival in Lahore by Alpha - Event and Free Invitation Details #AlphaWinterCarnival
I have just been informed that this event has been postponed due to security concerns on the advice of Government of Pakistan. If I get any updates, I will make sure to update this post.

I am really excited to share details about an exciting event, happening in Lahore, with you all. Alpha, a Cambridge Associate School, is bringing a Winter Carnival in Lahore for children and their parents with lots of fun activities, games, and yummy food stalls. Free invitation registration link and all the details are shared later in this post.

Before I get into more details about the event, let me tell you briefly about Alpha first, so you know what kind of environment you can expect for your child. Being a parent myself, it is really important to know the ideology and vision of any school system.

Background of Alpha:
Alpha is a new school in Lahore that values the unique abilities of every child. Their approach is not just to teach knowledge to students from text books but much rather, they have a fresh approach towards education. Alpha believes in developing a strong foundation for their students so they develop into confident, resourceful and independent citizens with a healthy attitude towards learning.

The all-round Alpha experience gives learners independence, communication skills to manage their lives, studies, and the resilience to stand tall in an increasingly competitive environment. For today’s generation, personal development is as important as a strong academic foundation.

When I was looking for a school for my child, I was looking for a place where my child will learn a lot more than what a text book will teach him. I wanted him to be independent, someone who can take initiatives in his life and someone who has a strong base of morals and discipline. Our children now spend more time in schools than at home, so choosing a school that helps your child become a complete and responsible individual is really important.

Alpha's distinctive curriculum starts with the Pre-Primary and Primary Years – currently operational from grades Play School to Grade 2. Alpha strives to produce exemplary citizens who will make a significant contribution to their school and the wider community. The broad principles that underpin Alpha are derived and developed from the same values, aims and concepts that are rooted in The City School’s ethos. Alpha is unique, and with campuses in Dubai and Lahore, it is just one step further in The City School’s journey to use the power of education to transform lives.

Location of Alpha:
Alpha is located in a very safe location of Gulberg, Lahore, with best possible facilities for students at the campus. Their facilities include drama, art, music and cooking studios, an athletic field and a swimming pool along with many other activities.

Creatively designed, the campus has technology-integrated classrooms to encourage self-directed learning. Moreover, Alpha is currently the only school in Lahore that has a specially designed STEM lab, to enrich learning through exploration and experimentation.

STEM is an acronym referring to the fields of study science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The term is typically used in addressing education policy and curriculum choices in schools from kindergarten through college to improve competitiveness in technology development.

The campus is in a very safe location, hidden from the main road that often poses a threat to many schools. This was done to ensure the safety of their students in cases of any security issues. Since the school is right in the center of the city, the school is easily accessible for parents with a minimal travel time.

Parents in Partnership:
Being able to know the progress of your child's learning with the relaxation of staying in touch with the school, easily, gives me a peace of mind and I am sure all the parents out there would want the same facility these days. Alpha provides many opportunities for parents to remain involved with school activities and to gain a greater understanding of how they work. Some of their methods of communicating with parents are:

- Parents’ evenings
- Back to school nights
- Classroom activities
- Workshops
- Newsletters
- Parent-teacher meetings
- Open day events
- The Parent-Teacher Association aims to foster and create strong associations between the teachers and the parent body. Regular events and meetings keep parents involved in the education of their child.
- Parents’ Portal: An avenue for parents to share their concerns and keep up to date with the progress of their child at school from the comfort of their home.

Event Details:
Alpha is bringing an exciting and fun event for children and their parents in Lahore at their branch in Gulberg. The #AlphaWinterCarnival has a beautiful theme of Winter Wonderland and a hint of Winter Circus, with fairy lights and Christmas decor. I can already imagine what a thrilling experience it will be for everyone visiting the event. I know as a mother that visiting such events is a great way of spending quality time with your child, so if you are based in Lahore don’t miss out this amazing opportunity.

She has worked for 30 years in a wide range of educational roles from Australia, UK, China, Uganda, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain to the UAE, working in schools, as well as managing school improvement projects. She has been a school principal, education director and a country director in these many settings.

A message from Principal:
'I would like to extend a very warm and sincere welcome to you. It is an honour to lead the team at Alpha, a school where learning is at the forefront of all that we do. It is a school where we encourage independence, responsibility, investigation, and encourage our students to develop their own skills, to challenge what they understand, and to discover and explore what they don’t know. We provide students with the appropriate and contemporary tools to foster their learning.

We aim for all Alpha students to be truly “innovative, imaginative, curious, creative, and courageous” much like the lion in our logo. Success is measured by what our students achieve, in how they use the skills of communication, collaboration, and critical thinking. Our students will be accomplished 21st century learners, with true international mindedness.'
