Product Description & Packaging:
Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadow comes in a really aesthetically pleasing packaging. The base of the jar is made up of high quality, durable and transparent glass and the screw top is in black colored plastic. This product comes in many shades and each jar contains 4 grams of product.

Swatches:
These swatches are taken on bare skin, without any primer underneath and in day light. The colors of the swatches are as accurate as possible except for Tenacious Teal. That shade is a lot more vibrant in real life but the camera just wasn't cooperating.

Shade Description:
Painted Purple is a violet purple with a slight sheen to it.
Tenacious Teal looks a lot more vibrant and darker teal-ish-blue shade with specks of gold shimmer.
Edgy Emerald is a very subtle aqua green shade. This one also has some sheen.
Fierce & Tangy is a true orange and slightly matte shade.
Audacious Asphalt is a silverish-gray shade with a slight sheen.
Bold Gold is a gorgeous dull gold shade.
Tough As Taupe is a mauve-ish gray shade. This one is also more towards the matte side and has a cool undertone.

They all look amazing as eyeliners! =D

Overall Experience:
My experience is mainly based on the claims that the brand made about the product so you guys can know if it is worth your money or not. I obviously have my own way of trying and testing a product and see how it worked for me.

First of all, these eyeshadows have the cutest packaging and that it makes you want to have all the shades in the range so you can have a nice display in your drawer or on your vanity. Other than the packaging, the jar has sufficient amount of product for the price. I would also like to mention, as for my first impression when I opened the jars, the product did not look like the photos I have seen on the brand's website. On their website, they have more like a creamy gel consistency but upon opening my purchase, the product looked like a very thick cream. Some might say that it looked dried out but the formula went on really smooth and not chunky or blotchy at all.

Using a brush to apply the eyeshadow was pretty much a failure but then I used my fingertips, as advised by the brand, and the heat of the fingertips kind of melted the product and helped it blend out very nicely.

As for longevity, I first applied the shadows on my (naturally oily) eyelids without any primer. Trust me when I say this, I was disappointed when I saw creasing in less than an hour. I gave the product a few tries but nothing. With the primer, the result was a lot better but 4-5 hours was the time for me, at max! They, however, work tons lot better with a primer underneath and a powder shadow over them.

While I was being hopeless, I swatched all the shades on my wrist and back of my hand and put them to a 'waterproof checking test', I was amazed how the water just slid where I had swatches on. The swatches dried pretty much instantly on the application and there wasn't any kind of smudge even after the water test. Moreover, 24 hours later, I still had 80% of the pigment on my skin. Soap doesn't move the product and neither do the rubbing (unless you rub with oil or a waterproof makeup remover). Hence this test proves that the shadows are perfect for not-so-oily lids.

Since I mentioned that these shadows set instantly, you pretty much do not have time to blend too much, so be quick if you are planning on wearing them on their on.  All the shades are completely buildable.

Bonus tip: Eye Studio Color Tattoo Eyeshadows look amazing as eyeliners and work great for oily lids too.

I personally am not a huge fan of things where I have to dip my fingertips in because the product gets under my nails and this particular product is not that easy to come off.

I also forgot to mention one thing about the packaging that due to the transparent glass, you can see the shades without opening the packaging which makes it very feasible when you are getting ready or packing for traveling. Hats off to Maybelline for overall design, formulation and color collection but I really hope that the discontinued shades will come back and they will add more shades in future. I personally would absolutely love to see some more vibrant shades in this range. I still have to try their Leather Collection and some more shades from this collection though.

As my final verdict, I will purchase more shades to have in my collection and to use as liners but I do not find myself reaching for these too often unless I am wearing them on their own which does not happen too often either since I like at least three shades to add dimension to my eye look and I also cannot neglect the risk of them creasing on my in a few hours. But I honestly and highly recommend everyone (preferably with no-oily lids) to give them a try.

Please note that I bought these shades some time ago and was not able to share my views sooner. 5. Looks like a quality product to me. I guess that I gravitate towards known brands with cosmetics, thinking 'it must be good to protect their reputation'.

  10. I definitely wouldn't use these myself. I can barely apply powdered eye shadows! I could see them being fun eyeliners though.

  11. I can imagine not liking things when you have to dip your fingers in them and then it gets stuck under the nails. That's the worst. I am not sure I could recommend this product to my daughter if that is the case, not that she's quite old enough for this just yet.
