We have all seen this 15 color concealer palette being used by so many YouTube Gurus and Beauty Bloggers across the globe. Out of curiosity, I also wanted to get my hand on one and honestly speaking, I was afraid to use it. Let's see if this palette was a hit or miss in my books.
Product Description & Packaging:
This palette does not have a brand name and is made in Korea, I have seen some made in China too. It has 15 shades that consist of one highlighter, three tone corrector and eleven lightest to darkest concealer shades. The consistency is creamy and the product kind of melts when in contact with skin. Some of the shades have neutral undertone, some has peachy and some has orange-y undertone. The box is made up of plastic and so far it looks exactly the same as the one by BH Cosmetics. I will be getting one of those as well to compare with the one I have without a brand name.
Overall Experience:
Where I was afraid to use a No Brand concealer palette, I was also excited to try it. I was a bit confident about the ingredients as they had a sticker on the back with all the ingredients written over it plus I saw many bloggers / YouTubers using this palette already.
If I had to sum the review up in one line, I would say that every makeup lover got to have it.
I bought this for about RM 25 which is equal to approximately $8. I did not order it online, infact I spotted it in Pyramid Mall one day at a shop where I usually buy my eyelashes from.
Pigmentation of every pan but highlighter is great. I wouldn't even call it a highlighter, it is just a chunky shimmery cream which would only work to add an extra glamour to your body if you are planning to hit a party. I don't really use it.
Three corrector shades work great and I use them only when I need them because layering them under these concealers can make the overall look a bit cakey.
Eleven concealer shades are actually my favorite. They have a very nice pigmentation and blend quite smoothly with fingers, brush or sponge. If you want to try that Kim Kardashian Extreme Contour on you without going heavy on your budget, you can actually play with this palette.
Though this is a concealer palette but who told us not to use one product for more than one purposes? We are the boss of our own makeup, imagination, and the creativity. Since these have a creamy texture, they work well to create a base to later put your powder highlighter, foundation/powder and contour shades on which help them to last longer.
These shades give medium to full coverage but they can look cakey upon full coverage if you only use this product. My favorite method is to build a medium coverage with this concealer and then seal it with a toned powder or a powder foundation.
With this palette, you can easily find your true shade either by using one of the pans or by mixing two or more together.
Staying time totally depends on how you are wearing these and also, how much you sweat. If you set these with powder and do not sweat too much, they will last for good 4-5 hours and even longer if you do not have oily skin type or if you are wearing a primer. Otherwise, it would last for about 3-4 hours and will tone down eventually and might crease under the eyes as well. To avoid that, a bit of retouching of powder would help.
Just like when you use a paint stick, you won't even know when you have overused it and would start to look cakey and all made up. The same rule works for this palette, you have to know when to stop and how much you need to use. A bit goes a long way for these concealer shades.
Overall, I am really loving this palette for personal and also for professional use. It kind of save the day when you have a client with a shade a bit different to what you already have in your collection.
Cost & Availability:
This palette is available online on Amazon, eBay for about 8$-12$ and I got it for RM 25 from a local store here in Malaysia. You can also buy it online (only for Malaysia) from Mesmerize.
