Color Studio Professional's Pure Matt Lipsticks - Review & Swatches

I have never been a huge fan of lipsticks mostly because lipsticks emphasize my dry lips even more and usually, lipsticks fade away leaving a weird looking residue at the sides of the lips. But yes, there are a few lipsticks that I have tried and loved. Let's see if this highly raved addition in Color Studio Pro's range is worth the hype.

Product Description & Packaging:
This lipstick comes in a sliding box and comes in 38 shades. The tube itself is really sturdy and is made up of a very good quality material. The packaging reminds me of YSL's Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick.

• Gossip - 120; is a bright pink shade.
• Brick - 111; is a chocolate-maroonish shade.

Swatches:
The swatches have been taken directly from the tube on bare skin. I did not apply any extra lip balm on my lips and in these pictures, they are in their best possible condition. Yup, I have got super dry lips.

Overall Experience:
If you have been reading my blog for some time now, you would know that I was not so much of a lipstick person until I tried Signature Lipsticks by Luscious Cosmetics. All I want from my lipstick is wear time of at least three hours, mild to no scent/taste and minimum to zero bleeding. Let's see if this one has impressed me.

I have tried Color Studio Pro's Color Rush Lipstick and I was quite pleased with it but so far I have a love-hate feeling with Pure Matt Lipsticks. I loved the vast range of shades and the packaging is gorgeous too. It has a very mild vanilla scent and does not bleed if you don't overdo the application. Longevity and pigmentation are actually quite impressive. Until or unless I eat something that contains oil, this lipstick does not fade away easily which shows that it is easily removable with an oil based makeup remover.

Now the dislikes; it does not glide onto the lips smoothly. The best possible application for me is to dab is on lips first and then apply the second layer. However, it works fine if I have a lip balm underneath. But I feel like that kills the purpose of a matte lipstick. The lipstick gives a dry texture rather than a matte one and even though I always prep my lips for lipstick application, it looks like I have applied the lipstick on already dried and chapped lips, that you can see in swatches.

Out of these two, Gossip is the one that I mostly reach for and I always finish it off with a top layer of a sheer lip gloss. If I am not feeling like using a lip gloss on top, I just dab the tube onto my lips because the shade itself is not what I would wear in everyday routine. Gossip is too bright and Brick is too dark for me and I either apply both of these in very small amount (almost sheer) or always cut the shade a bit off by using a lip gloss or a nude lipstick on top.

Overall, I must say that it really stay for longer hours and is totally a perfect lipstick for someone with naturally hydrated lips. Also, the shade range and packaging is another plus. However anyone with dry/chapped lips would definitely have to use a lip balm underneath resulting in not-so-matte finish.
