Mineral Hygienics' Loose Eye Shadows in 'Egg Plant, White & Pink Desert' - Review & swatches

Today I am going to talk about one of my personally tried and favorite brand's Mineral Eye Shadows. I have been using Mineral Hygienics' products for a long time now and having a really sensitive skin, this brand is my first choice during my bad-skin-breakout-days.

Product Description & Packaging:
These pigments come in plastic sifter jars with screw lids. Each jar contains 7 grams of product. Shades I am going to review today are;
  • Egg Plant is a dark brown matte shade with a deep purple undertone that becomes visible upon blending.
  • White is pure white, slightly shimmery shade.
  • Pink Desert is a light violet, slightly shimmery shade.

Pros & Cons:

Pros:
  • Highly pigmented.
  • Easy to build and blend.
  • Stay for 3-4 hours without creasing. (Conditions; oily lids, humid weather and no primer)
  • Stay throughout the day (8 hours and more) without creasing or toning down if applied over an eye primer.
  • No fall outs.
  • Huge color range.
  • Sweat resistant.
  • Suitable for all skin types.
  • Suitable for sensitive eyes as well.
  • Non irritant.
Cons:
  • I did not find anything negative about this product but the price could be a problem for some people.

Overall Experience:
With oily lids and humid weather, an eye primer is an utmost important thing whenever I apply eye shadows. Plus, I believe that no matter what price you pay for an eye shadow, it is unjustified to the shadow if it is not applied over an eye primer or eye shadow base. I have tried these eye shadows with and without eye primers to reach to final conclusion.

I really liked the packaging and the shape of the jars, they are different & slim. Eye shadows go to the lids easily and blend without much effort. And even with the dark shadow, I had no fall outs.

As far as staying power is concerned, it amazed me. My eye lids are so oily that my eye shadows start to crease in about 40-60 minutes. I applied these eye shadows without eye primer and they were in place for good 3 hours and then gradually started to tone down. When I applied the shadows over my favorite Professional Eye Primer by MUA (review here), the color pay off was brilliant and the eye makeup stayed for over eight hours.

I personally like to invest in makeup that I am going to use in my daily routine as my skin gets exposed to it more often. But if I am buying eye shadows, I seriously do not like to pay a fortune on single eye shadows and this product is a bit pricey if you are not going to use it often since these have quite a large amount of product. But if you have sensitive eyes and skin, Mineral Hygienics will be my obvious recommendation.

If anyone of Mineral Hygienics is reading this, I would suggest that you have smaller packaging for the eye shadows so it can be affordable because I personally think that with this brilliant pigmentation, even the half amount of the product is going to last for really long time.

Overall, I am quite happy with the pigmentation, color payoff and staying power and I love Mineral Hygienics for making products that are suitable even for highly sensitive skin types.

Recommendation:
If you want to invest in eye shadows with good color payoff, pigmentation and staying power, you should give this brand a try. Also, if you have really sensitive skin or/and eyes, these eye shadows are worth a try.

    1. The website is safe but if you are unsure you can ask local businesses to get a pre-order to arrange Mineral Hygienics for you. I think more people would be interested to get their products in Pakistan. You can ask Just4Girls.pk, Beauty Unleashed or Enhanced Makeup to arrange the brand.
